Electric Razor Scooters - Power at a Price
The electric razor scooter has been around for a while now, they remain very popular, but there are concerns by many owners who aren't too sure of the value. There are many reviews of the product by customers who have one, and the main concern of many customers of the razor electric scooter models is poor performance based on their expectations of what they think a scooter is.
The razor e series 100, 200, 300, are speed rated (from 10 to 15mph) but never stated as a weight to speed ratio. But the heavier the load, the slower the speed and the more power will be used. That means more charging time and less use. These scooters are really meant for children, who are lighter in weight. Battery power just isn't enough to compensate for heavier loads and give the same performance.
The razor electrics are a toy and should not be considered in any other way, they were never designed as a transportation scooter. The batteries fit under the running board, long and slim and not to be in the way of the rider, light weight and power restrictions by design.
The e models are typically rated at 45 minutes which most people thought was very low. This comes back to the design of the scooter. The razor electric scooters as already stated are designed as a toy, the batteries are small and are not capable of much more power output.
Present battery technology is limited as to how much power you can get. The razor scooter is a lightweight compact scooter. Batteries are heavy and to power the razor scooter for more output would mean losing the compactness, easy fold and store features that parents and owners love. The electric razor scooter delivers what it is designed to do and no more.
So the question remains are the razor electric scooters worth the money? The answer is yes IF you keep things in perspective. The Razor electric scooters are designed for children to give some fun and mobility and they deliver all of that.
